CHMR-FM Weekly Schedule (Fall 2018 semester)
Tuesday
00 - 09:00 - Chill with Jill - with host, Jill Power.
00 - 09:30 - Latin Waves - Latin Waves was born 10 years ago when Sylvia Richardson’s passion for social change hit the radio air waves. The show was started as a resource to educate the public about the extraordinary changes and social movements that are happening in Latin America, there is a literal blackout in the Canadian main stream media around these historic changes. Our original mandate to cover Latin America still stands but we have expanded our coverage into local/national and international issues making those critical political connections, we bring our listeners in-depth coverage of issues with a focus on the history of an issue and what that history means for us today and most importantly what we can do to move society forward in a healthy way. In short our show is focused on building community across borders, positive social change has only come through communities of interest working together.
30 - 10:00 - Talking Radical Radio - Talking Radical Radio brings you grassroots voices from across Canada. Each episode features a single in-depth interview with one or two people involved in some kind of social change work. It gives activists from coast to coast to coast a chance to take a longer view as they talk about what they do, how they do it, and why they do it.
00 - 11:00 - Global Research News Hour - The Global Research News Hour is a special radio collaboration between the Centre for Research on Globalization, and campus community radio station CKUW 95.9FM. We seek to provide listeners with in depth analyses of major stories shaping today's world from thinkers, researchers and unique political personalities rarely addressed by major media. Guests have included Michel Chossudovsky, Rick Rozoff, Rocco Galati, and Yves Engler among others.
00 - 12:00 - Democracy Now! - Democracy Now! is a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program hosted by journalists Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez.
00 - 13:00 - Mid-day Report - CHMR-FM's locally produced newscast featuring Atlantic, National, International News with sports and weather.
00 - 14:00 - The Green Majority - The Green Majority is a multi-platform Canadian environment and politics news show, publishing since 2006.
00 - 16:00 - Classical Tones - Classical Tones / Tonos Clasicos is a weekly two-hour bilingual show of classical music "with a Latin connection". Every work played has some connection to Spain or Latin America, typically the composer and/or the performer(s). Much of the programming is music that is rarely or never heard on most classical music radio shows. Each piece is preceded by a minute or two of interesting information about it, first in Spanish, then in English.
00 - 17:00 - What on Earth is Going On? - Your weekly radio show/podcast for a world in flux. Globalization and climate change. The rise of social media and the decline and fall of Blockbuster Video. AI and VR. Donald Trump and Flat Earthers. The world is changing so fast that we can't get a grip on how we got here, let alone where we're headed. Join Ben Charland as he peels back the headlines to ask, what are the events, characters, forces and ideas that shape the human story today? Have things always been this nuts, or are they getting crazier by the day? Who were those barbarians that took down the Blockbuster Empire? Just what on Earth is going on?
00 - 18:00 - James and Emmanuel Live - Join your hosts, James and Emmanuel, for a jam-packed hour of pointless discussion and good music. From aliens to Oxford commas, nothing is too unimportant to be discussed.

00 - 21:00 - World Beat Canada
00 - 22:00 - TBA
00 - 00:00 - 33, 45, 78 - Steve Fruitman has been programming Canadian roots music programs for 25 years. A folklorist and ardent Canadian music collector, his programs hit the nation's nerve centre passionately on each and every show. Connecting fiddle music with singer-songwriters, blues and jazz, country and folk seemlessly (very often in one program). It's the only radio program officially endorsed by Stompin' Tom Connors.
